“If you want to get your feet wet with welding without enrolling in a tech school or taking the gamble of buying a welder and doing the YouTube trial and error process, this is a great place to start and a great place to learn.
I took Mr. G's welding 101 class in April because I was in the process of applying to the Pipefitters Union and had just about ZERO welding experience. Mr. G did a great job of breaking everything down into very simple steps and we were able to break up into small groups and got a lot of time to actually weld. I left the class pretty confident in my ability to use a stick welder.
I continued the process of applying to the union, and went for my interview 2 weeks ago. My resume show's NO experience in trades, but I was able to use this workshop to show some level of welding experience. I got a call from the education director the next day asking for proof of attending this work shop and then the following day I received an email with my acceptance into their apprenticeship program. I believe that because I attended this workshop, it definitely had some sway in their decision. If you find yourself in the same boat or are on the fence about trade school or just curious about welding, definitely start here!” -Brit DalCais
