About Welding 201 - The MIG Welder:
You've done the hard work if you've taken Welding 101. You've learned how to manage the steel in its liquid state.
If the stick welder from (welding 101) is the manual transmission, the MIG welder is the automatic transmission of welders.
The MIG welder is a very versatile machine, it can handle thick metals up to about a quarter inch, with a bonus of handling thin metal. (ex: sheet metal)
In Welding 201, I'll teach you how to set up the MIG welder with a gasless wire. We will run the machine and learn how to manage the liquid pool.
We'll use the flux core wire to make a butt weld, lap joint, and T joint.
Once we switch over to a solid wire with gas, we will make the same joints. Butt joint, lap joint, and T joint, only this time we will use a very thin metal.
By the time you're done with welding 201- MIG welding... you will be ready to head to the store to get your welder and start practicing at home.
