Welding 301: TIG Welding

TIG welding is like the sushi of welding. Everything has to be clean and precise. In this class, you’ll control the heat with a foot throttle through an electrical arc that you're shielding with argon gas. Then, you add the filler rod with your other hand for a precise weld pool. Remember from your earlier classes, Welding 101 and Welding 201, that it's all about liquid pool management.

This advanced class will cover the fundamentals of TIG welding, including setting up the TIG machine, proper electrode selection, using filler rods, and controlling heat with a foot pedal for optimal weld puddle management. By the end of the class, students will be capable of producing aesthetically pleasing, strong welds and will gain hands-on experience with different joint types and metal thicknesses. This class emphasizes patience, control, and attention to detail, ensuring students walk away with the confidence to tackle TIG welding projects on their own.
